Type: 3D Seismic Survey
Engagement: Project Management – Client Side
Location: Cooper Basin, South Australia
Duration: 28 weeks
Completed: October 2016
Project Description:
Synterra Technologies was selected as the project manager for the planning and execution of a 180 km² 3D seismic survey in the South Australian side of the Cooper Basin.
Planning, which encompassed all design, procurement, environmental, heritage and regulatory consents, was completed in 77 days – a commendable timeframe for the first regulated activity undertaken in the State of South Australia by the client.
The Sercel 428 system was used for data recording and the AHV-IV 60,000 lb vibrator as the energy source. The project was executed in 91 days, including a 46-day weather delay. During the project more than 33,000-man hours were worked with no recordable incidents.
The project achieved the project plan’s definition of success, providing the client a cost-effective, high quality dataset. We wish them well with further development of their asset.
